Virginia Gov. Timothy M.
Kaine brought his support for Sen. Bararack Obama to Lexington,
calling him a change maker who would bring red and blue states
together into a United States. In the
opening address at the Washington and Lee University 2008 Mock
Convention, Kaine said, "Sen. Obama, from his very DNA, is about
bringing people together, about trying to unify this nation."
What
would an Obama presidency mean for seniors? In a news conference after the
speech, Kaine told Seasoned Voices correspondent David Reynolds
that Obama would resist lobbyists in health care and
prescription drugs, and "do what's the right thing to do" by
listening to all points of view. "It's not going to
be government with a veto power by special interests," said
Kaine.
